Some very special visitors

JoAnn and I live quiet lives. It’s not surprising, I suppose, as we are each approaching 90, and our days in the ‘fast lane’ have long since faded into the past.
What a delightful surprise it was, then, when a few days ago–right out of the blue–five very special visitors paid us a call. I was on the phone, talking with a friend, when JoAnn looked out our front door window and saw two Robins busy checking out our premises, the front porch, for example, the large Blue Spruce Tree that grows outside the front of our home, and, of course, the little patch of grass that completes our “front yard.”
JoAnn didn’t want to interrupt my call, but as soon as I had hung up, she grabbed me and said, “Come and look.”
We went to the front door and looked out the window but surprise, surprise, there were now FIVE robins inspecting our blue spruce tree, our front porch, our afore-mentioned grass, and the bushes that grow beside our porch. Hard to believe, but one of the robins even peered for a moment into the hole under the porch that our bunnies use as the entrance to their burrow.
What a joy it was, a gift from Nature, a gift from the Creator, indeed, to watch as for an hour or perhaps two hours this “family” of five robins made themselves at home at the Foster residence. You are welcome to visit us any time, robins.
PS If you have any thoughts on the above please share. My best wishes to you, Chris
