Who are we, really?

Tags: love spirit human

Yes, we are Human. We have our foibles and fears, our habits and heart-aches. How I Love my afternoon visits to the coffee-shop. How distressed I was recently when some back pain paid me a visit.

The good news, however, is that we are not only human. Our primary nature–our true nature–is Spirit. Spirit everlasting. Spirit of Love. Spirit of Truth. Spirit of Courage and Compassion.

Yes, the human part of us dies, just as all forms die. But that is not who we truly are. The love that we express as we live our lives, the love my wife expresses as she creates a new quilt, the love we all express as we stand up to our challenges, pet a dog, hug a child or in a million other ways offer blessing into this world, that is who we truly are.

Let’s keep doing our best to express the spirit of Love and Truth that dwells within us. I salute you, and would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts you would like to add.
