Our New Roommate

We didn’t put up an ad or even decide to have a Roommate. She just appeared one day, taking over the patio and paying NO RENT, I might add.

I was terrified at first. Who wouldn’t be when they notice an intruder in their home? But I’m trying to make peace with her since we discovered she’s harmless and a pretty good roommate, as far as roommates go. She doesn’t use up all the hot water or eat the last of my bran flakes. A late night party or two seems to be her worst offense.

Since it looks like she’s here to stay, I’ll introduce you. In true blogger form, here are “10 things” about our new roommate:

1- She moved in uninvited.

2- She has a long medium brown body and black eyes, perhaps her papa’s build and her mama’s eyes.

3 – She’s shy.

4 – Meal of choice is a freshly paralyzed frog. Yes, we found one… eeeew.

5 – A nocturnal snake, I suspect she is trying to endear herself to me by acting like Squee – she plays and eats at night.

6 – Talks tough, with no bite. She put up an impressive show when A try to shoo her, but timidly scampered away in the end (we won’t try that again though).

7 – Unknown to us, she may have been our roommate for the last year. We saw a Teeny Baby Snake by our front door last year. This could be her, all grown up!

8 – Does not like to be disturbed when sleeping under a flowerpot. She doesn’t even care if it is the basil plant I am trying to clip.

9 – She might be a mama snake, in one sighting she was protecting a teeny baby snake. (Yikes! There could be a whole family in the bushes)

10 – After 5 sightings in the past month, she is not going anywhere anytime soon.
