15-year-old Detroiter Damon Grimes was killed in 2017 when a Michigan State Trooper tasered Grimes while he was driving an ATV, forcing him to crash at a high speed. The Trooper, Mark Bessner, had a known history of misconduct and poor decision-making and was convicted of involuntary manslaughter (sentenced to 5-15 years in prison). Grimes family just settled their wrongful death lawsuit against the Michigan State Police for $12 million.

- At a bar in W. Virginia, a man shot and wounded 7 people. What a surprise, the shooter is a Detroiter, 30-year-old Kymonie Davis, who also has outstanding warrants in Illinois.
- Detroit Fire Fighters put out a car on fire and discovered the remains of body; at Thatcher and Forrer.
- A 49-year-old man broke into a Detroit home on Goddard, but the owner fired a shot, injuring him and causing him to flee. Detroit Police captured him and took him to the hospital.
- Detroit Police discovered a 45-year-old man lying in the grass with a gunshot wound by 7 Mile Rd. and Strasburg Street. He passed away while being transported to the hospital.
- A Detroit man was arrested for shooting a woman who was arguing with his girlfriend. Thankfully, the victim was just grazed and the man was arrested while attempting to flee.
- A natural gas explosion at a Detroit home on Evergreen injured 6 people who were hospitalized for burns and smoke inhalation. DTE and authorities are investigation the cause. The second story was blown off and parts of the home landed across the street.
- A car burst into flames when thieves attempted a Smash & Grab in Detroit on Livernois. The target was a woman’s clothing store but the vehicle caught fire right after it was crashed into the building.
- Two 25-year-old Detroiters stabbed each other on Churchill in Detroit. The man was pronounced dead and the woman is listed in temporary serious condition.
