Musician Kid Rock, who has been a huge booster of Detroit, is closing his downtown restaurant “Made in Detroit.” At a recent concert in Nashville, Kid Rock complained about the producers of the Oprah Winfrey Show, who were trying to get him on the show. Al Sharpton’s NAN group in Detroit began protesting his restaurant, so Rock announced that, “he’ll be closing it, and no longer fundraise or donate to Detroit causes – they can ask Sharpton for money and help instead.”
A 29-year-old man driving a Chevy Impala on Detroit’s 29th Street was shot multiple times, causing him to veer into another car. He is listed in critical condition and Detroit Police do not know the circumstances of the shooting. This happens so often in Detroit, how is the car insurance settled with the crash victim??

- An 18-year-old Detroiter was arrested for carjacking a woman as she pulled into her garage, at gunpoint. Michigan State Police identified her Jeep moving down Livernois. They tried to pull him over but he fled, and a minute later they stopped him by knocking the back end of the car as he turned, and arrested him. Thankfully, he was caught in Dearborn where he’ll get a stiffer sentence.
- The Detroit Board of Police Commissioner’s secretary, Gregory Hicks, was removed after lying to investigators and improperly hired key staff members. An Inspector General’s report also criticized executive manager Faye Johnson for lying and she resigned.
- 60-year-old Mark Olson from St. Clair has been charged with 5 counts of first-degree sexual conduct and faces life in prison if convicted.
- A 27-year-old Detroiter was approached by a man, wearing all black, on E. Buthane Street, who then shot the victim and fled; he is in critical condition.
- 4 Detroiters in their early 30s overdosed on opiods at a home on Caldwell. First responders were able to revive one of them but the other 3 passed away. A young neighbor alerted her mother, “she’s passed out again,“ and she called 911.
