- A 41-year-old woman speeding on Gratiot and Van Dyke smashed into another car stopped at a red light, killing that driver.
- Two teens turned themselves into the Detroit Police after they were caught on video surveillance attacking a man waiting at a bus stop – knocking him unconscious and then continued to kick him.
- The Treasurer of the Detroit Fire Fighter’s Union has been accused of embezzling assets. They are starting a forensic audit to determine the details. The Treasurer, Verdine Day, retired last month, bringing the fraud to light.
- The Detroit brewery, Founders Brewing Company, closed its Detroit taproom after a lawsuit by an employee alleging racist discrimination by a manager.
- Inkster Police answered an alarm at a beauty supply store and found shattered windows and lots of missing merchandise. Police are circulating the surveillance video of the two suspects.
- A 50-year-old man was carjacked and shot at a Detroit gas station on Dexter Avenue. The victim is in serious condition, police have no suspects.
