Hahaha – this is now about the 5th accidental home torn down by Mayor Duggan’s Demolition Program. This time it was a non-profit of a Michigan State Representative, Sherry Gay-Dagnogo. Her non-profit was renovating the home to gift it to a needy family, but now it is just a hole in the ground. Gay-Dagnogo was already against the Mayor’s desire to issue $250 million for more demolitions, saying it is already out of control and corrupt, still no checks and balances in place, plus they are illegally bypassing environmental approvals – and now a home that she and her non-profit had just put $42,000 into is gone (this includes brand new windows throughout the house).
Detroit’s gift to the country, Detroit Congresswoman Rashida Tliab (currently under investigation for campaign finance violations), said this week that “Non African-Americans should not work as facial-recognition crime technicians because whites think African Americans all look the same; I see this all the time.” Nice racism Tliab! I watched the 6-minute video of her tour of the Detroit Police surveillance and facial recognition center. How can I put this accurately – she comes off as a thoughtless wacko whose brain pinballs around randomly and she clearly can’t stop herself from spouting any crazy thought that comes to mind. (Now it is obvious why Tliab is continually needing to apologize for nutty and offensive remarks).
And finally, in “It is a Darwin move to be anywhere near Detroit” news,
- A 32-year-old Detroiter, Tory Michael Anderson has been charged by the FBI for sex trafficking a minor, child pornography, and branding 3 of the prostitutes that worked for him (forcing them to tattoo his name “Tory” on their face or neck); he also pushed one of the girls out of a moving car, giving her road rash injuries on her leg and buttocks. Naturally, Anderson was convicted of armed robbery just a couple years ago but is already back out and destroying lives.
- A 26-year-old from Clinton Twp was arrested for fatally shooting his wife in the face at 14 Mile and Gratiot. Loud arguing was reported to police earlier in the night and they claimed everything was fine and were in good spirits. The husband was arrested on the spot.
- A shooting at 7 Mile and Wyoming left 1 man dead. Detroit Police responded to a report of a witness hearing 20 shots fired and located the dead body.
- A 28-year-old Detroiter is being charged with killing a 2-year-old boy, the autopsy concluded he died from blunt force trauma to the chest. The prosecutor claims he struck the boy while he was babysitting.
- 5 Detroit Firefighters were injured when a home collapsed while they searched for occupants. The abandoned home has caught fire 2 times before this one over the years.
- U.S. Marshalls arrested Detroiter, Corey Gaston, a fugitive who was captured in Mexico for allegedly raping a 10-year-old. He broke into her Detroit home, kidnapped her through a bedroom window, took her to an alley where he brutally raped her and then threatened her not to tell anyone. Another low-bail judge allowed Gaston to skip his trial where prosecutors had a DNA match.
