Who wants to link up with Detroit’s mass transit? Sherry Kietrys is a 34-year-old mother that lives in Dearborn. Kietrys works downtown Detroit and after taking a bus from Detroit to the Southfield Freeway, her body was discovered in a field a short distance away. Three days later, Dearborn Police arrested 40-year-old James Lindsey for her first-degree murder, he remained on the bus and exited with her, likely forcing her to a field where he raped and killed her. Lindsey is a Detroiter with a long criminal history including rape, drugs, retail fraud, indecent exposure, and felony firearm. Too bad for Lindsey he isn’t in low-bail Detroit, a Dearborn judge denied him bond.

Detroit official, Aradondo Haskins, 48, took $26,500 in bribes for Mayor Duggan’s blight demolition program and is now facing up to 5 years in prison. Haskins is the third recent prison sentence in the corruption of the demolition program.

3% of Detroit Police officers have been disciplined for lying, resulting in prosecutors being unable to move forward with charges against criminal suspects. The problem is the defense attorney must be notified so that officer cannot testify at trial.

And finally, in “It is a Darwin move to be anywhere near Detroit” news,

  • After yet another Detroit kid mauled to death by a Pit Bull, Detroit replaced the Animal Control Operations Director. It turns out, the new director was fired from his last job after audits from consultants and Detroit did not check his references. Critics call the hiring “scraping the bottom of the barrel.”
  • You can’t even walk safely in Detroit. A couple dozen people burned their feet on Detroit manhole covers because the regulated utility managing the steam tunnels failed to control or warn people about the heat.
  • Dominic Watson of Clinton Twp broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in Mt. Clemens and killed him with a shotgun as he slept. Macomb County deputies arrested Watson and charged him with first-degree murder and 4 felony gun charges.
  • A Detroiter attempting to avenge a robbed friend was fatally shot by that mugger on Nottingham. Thankfully, the mugger and now killer was arrested.
  • A 77-year-old Detroit liquor store operator was shot and killed by thieves during a robbery on Schoolcraft. Detroit Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the 2 shooters.
  • A 50-year-old Detroit man was arrested for stealing a wallet at Royal Oak’s Beaumont Hospital. He asked a passerby for money and grabbed the wallet and fled. Lucky for police, he dropped his own ID when he was running away. It turns out, he is a lifelong criminal from obstructing police, illegal drugs, felony firearms, retail fraud, and more. Even with that history, he was let out on bond for just $2,000.
