In Detroit, 9-year-old Emma Hernandez was mauled to death by her neighbors 3 Pit Bulls while riding her bicycle. The dogs easily got through their fence, like they’ve done many times before, and snatched her while she was riding. She died at the hospital shortly afterward. Emma’s mauling was so horrific that first responders were offered to them. Was this tragic attack foreseeable? A few days prior to the attack, Emma’s family spoke with the dogs’ owner to contain his animals in his yard. Endless police reports complaining about the dogs prompted Detroit’s Animal Control to visit the dog owner’s home a year earlier. However, no one was home, so he left and did nothing to follow up. Right now, the dogs’ owner, 33-year-old Pierre Cleveland has been charged with murder. A few years ago, a 4-year-old was mauled to death by a Pit Bull and its owner only served 1 year in jail.

• Detroit Police arrested a 70-year-old man for shooting at a vehicle and then barricading himself in his home.
• A Detroiter was attacked by two German Shepards, he shot one after they bit his ankles while he was running away.
• A man on a motorcycle driving at a high rate of speed, lost control at Schaefer and S. Fort Street, when he struck a pole and died. However, immediately after the crash, three men stole his bike – carting it away in a pickup truck.
• A 40-year-old woman was killed in a Hit & Run on Van Dyke in Detroit; and Detroit Police are looking for a woman driving a Corvette that Hit & Run a woman in a parking lot, injuring her.
• Detroit Police showed up to a 911 call, only to find a dead man in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds.
• Here is a new one: thieves used a giant excavator to smash into a liquor store to rob and 5am. The equipment was stolen from a home demolition a few homes away.
