In today’s corruption news, the FBI indicted a lawyer for participating in bribes with Macomb County politicians with trash hauling sleazebag, Chuck Rizzo. The attorney, Jay Schwartz, is facing 10-years in prison. Another UAW official that took $15,000 in bribes, Virdell King, was spared prison for cooperating with the FBI, leading to 8 other convictions so far.
In Detroit-immigration news, 7 Detroit Area Iraqi’s scheduled to be deported cut their GPS tethers to flee ICE. This is in response to Jimmy Al-Daoud recent death. Al-Daoud was born in Greece and has lived in the U.S. since he was 6 months old. At age 40, after his latest round of arrests, he was deported to Iraq, his only citizenship. He knew no one and did not know the language. He lived on the streets and was unable to get insulin for his diabetes and died from his illness. The other 7 Iraqi’s also have felony convictions but did not want to return to Iraq.

- A 22-year-old was shot dead during an argument on Hampshire near Chalmers, Detroit police are searching for the suspect.
- A second suspect was arrested in the armed-robbery and murder of 21-year-old Detroiter, Anfhony West, at Conner by I-94.
- A ride-share driver was shot (per usual) in Detroit during a pickup by Evergreen and Joy Road. The client was damaging a vehicle in the driveway when she pulled up, a man ran out of the house to shoot and stop the car damage but a bullet struck the driver instead.
- Yet another ride-share driver was carjacked by clients in his 12-year-old Cadillac.
- Where is the safest place in America at 2:00am? A Detroit gas station. Yesterday, at 2am, two men were hospitalized for gun shot wounds at a station on Harper Avenue after an armed couple entered and there was an argument.
- A 24-year-old Detroiter was beaten to death at 5:00am near Stratton and Waterman Street. Before passing away, he told police a man approached him and started fighting, then another suspect joined in. Police are searching for 3 men in a black Honda.
- A driver is dead and 2 passengers injured from a driveby shooting near 7 Mile Road and the Southfield Freeway. Detroit Police are asking for leads.
