After years of infidelity rumors about Detroit’s Mayor Duggan, his wife filed for divorce. The latest mistress claims came from a P.I. that discovered the mayor leaving his security detail and then spending the night in Novi a few times a week at a woman’s condo, Sonia Hassan. After each infidelity claim, the mayoral couple would say that their marriage is stronger than ever. But since Mikey was busted with physical evidence mounting, Lori Maher threw in the town. This just adds to Mike’s reputation as being as crooked as Kwame Kilpatrick who has a few decades to go in federal prison.

Water levels in the Detroit River are high and recent rains are straining the sewer systems. Broke Detroit never puts money into infrastructure so communities near the water are putting up sandbags and hoping the damage won’t be too bad. Naturally, scientists are blaming Global Warming for the rising levels of the Great Lakes, just like they blamed Global Warming for the lowering of their levels in 2013 – what a scam! 

CVS Pharmacy announced they are closing a couple dozen stores across the country. The sole store to close in the state of Michigan? Yep, in Detroit, downtown on Woodward Avenue. I guess battling crime everyday didn’t pay off to be a part of “The Resurgence.”

And finally, in “It is a Darwin move to be anywhere near Detroit” news,

• A 35-year-old Detroiter was living with his parents at 8 Mile near Telegraph. He thought, “His parents had done something to his car,” so he shot both of his parents.
• A 28-year old Detroiter pulled a rifle on a 33-year-old at his home on Asbury Park. The 33-year-old has a concealed-carry license and fatally shot the thief.
• In a 2 hour span, 4 people were shot downtown Detroit, around Greektown and Beaubien, all survived. One was a triple shooting and the other was a car accident where the offending driver shot the victim that was attempting to flee the scene.
• A 23-year-old Detroit woman was killed when a car racing down 8 Mile Road lost control and hit her vehicle. The driver, a 22-year-old Detroiter was driving on a suspended license.
