Dinesh entered a railway station
Dinesh entered a railway station. He was 20 years of age. He was very excited that day because for the first time in his life he was going to travel by Train alone.
He checked the arrival time of the train
He took out his ticket, checked the arrival time of his train, then he looked at the screen where the latest arrival times of the trains were written, after looking at his watch, he got that it was 8.03 PM at that time and the train is going to arrive at 11.37 PM.
He was enjoying his time at the station. He was loving the atmosphere there. From ‘atmosphere’, I mean the sounds of crowds, vendors, announcement regarding the trains by the lady's voice, the smell of the fruit juices, junk food and many more.
He was observing some people at the station
While he was buying a packet of chips, drinks, magazines and other stuff, he was observing some people at the station. From all the people he had his eyes on, he was very much interested in observing two families at the station.
The First Family
The first family he noticed, there was a girl wearing something like a sports jersey with a guy, who seemed like her father.
Father: Phone, Purse, Water-bottle, got them all?
Daughter: Yes dad. I have got them all.
Father: Dear, now for the last time, let’s check all the stuff in your bag.
Daughter: Seriously! One more time? Okay, for the last time.
After some time, the girl was joined by a group of girls wearing the same jersey the girl was wearing, accompanied by a guy having a well-built body wearing a sports-wear on which it was written ‘Coach’. After close to 45 minutes later, the train arrived and the girls with their coach boarded the train.
The Second Family
The second family he noticed, there was a lady holding a baby and playing with him (baby). After a few minutes, a guy came with some snacks, water-bottle, etc. He seemed like the husband of the lady. The lady gave the baby to the guy for holding him (baby) and playing with him.
Lady: How did you get so late?
Husband: For these snacks and stuff sweetheart.
Then, they also boarded their train after 20 to 30 minutes.
After watching these families
After watching these families Dinesh thought,
“Is it a good idea leaving home at this age without any support? But I don’t think I have any choice. These two families are reminding me of my family. I am missing my family now but, their thoughts about my future is not the same as mine. They wanted me to be an engineer but after spending 2 years at the college I didn’t gel well with engineering. They (parents) think I am just making excuses for not studying but I am not. I know what I am good at, I am going to prove them the same. I am going to show them achieving something and make them proud of myself, give them the love and support they have given me.
”
The lady’s voice in the station announced the arrival of his train. Dinesh came out of his zone of emotional thoughts and was ready to take his journey ahead.
