"I've always been fascinated with the stealing of innocence. It's the most heinous crime, and certainly a capital crime if there ever was one." -Clint Eastwood

The other day when I missed my School bus and had to get to school by car, I got late for the morning prayer at school. I was still on the first flight of stairs when the jingle sounded on the PA system and I heard the Principal's voice. I stood still and joined my hands but for some reason couldn't get myself to close my eyes. My attention was divided. There was a kid standing next to me. I just couldn't take my eyes off. His were closed and he was lost in the prayer. It was not devotion but sincerity in him that I saw. When he repeated the prayer after our Principal, he did it with utmost respect.

This incident led to a lot of questioning. I don't know why is it that I changed. That I respect things around me less now and instead go about with my day disregarding whatever doesn't affect me. Why is it that as we grow  distant and selfish?
I want to go back to being younger and carefree. Because those times seem simpler but that life seems like a dream. A very vivid dream, one that makes me wonder whether I was ever it's protagonist. To think, I was this innocent.........

We are wrong to think that out youth is the only thing we lose with age. It is actually our Innocence, the most valuable gift. The worst part is, we don't even realize it's importance till much much after it's lost.
I am asked often why I am such a kid. Why I resort to jokes in times of seriousness. To them, my answer is simple. In this life, nothing is worth being serious over. Seriousness is a disease. None of your problems will last long enough to make history but the seriousness of it will.

So take a deep breadth, close your eyes and maybe resort to jokes and innocence to solve problems. I don't guarantee solutions but I guarantee a smile worth a billion dollars.
