My Speed is NOT Enforced by Aircraft.

Why do they have those ridiculous "Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft" signs on the side of the highway?  I'm not generally one for Government conspiracy theories, but this seems entirely suspicious to me.

Note to any government monitors reading this: we all know those signs are complete b.s.

I mean how many friends do you have with great dinner party material relating to their last Speeding ticket issued from a C-140? Or a chopper for that matter?  (Perhaps this is the clandestine purpose behind Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner.)

Seriously, though, what the hell are those signs for, if not to make people like me paranoid and angry?  My only hypothesis is that they represent some sort of government psychology that the fear of being pulled over by an aircraft (I'm not sure how the logistics would even work here - would they hover or land?) is compelling enough to make us observe the speed limit.

I think these may be the same government psychologists that developed the DARE program.  Let the speeding ensue.
