Why We Should Hike With A Team

I am very lucky to be able to live in Borneo, with all the trees, waterfall, mountains, and beautiful nature scenery.

I am also very lucky to have a team #KuchingAdventureTeam that share the same passion like me.

I treasure this friendship very much, and hope in the years to come, we will continue to explore more places in Borneo.

Here are reason why should we Hike in a team!

There is always joke to share
Sometime we need a few hours to hike to the mount summit, or to a certain check point, so along the way its always good that someone that can cause amusement or laughter to the team, especially a story with a funny punchline, in our group we have a lot of people who do that, and it makes the journey even more fun.

Someone handle the cooking
On a camping trip, Food plays an important role it not just give us energy, it also unit us together. In a group, there is always that someone who knows how to cook, who owns the practice or skill of preparing food by combining, mixing, and heating ingredients. For me who don't own that skills, its a blessing that my friend can cook, so my job is to help finished the food that my friend cooked.

Bonding
The more you get together with a bunch of friends the more you will feel the close bond between each other. For me I always feel a close friendship that develops between my buddies, often as a result of shared experiences.

To look on each other back
This is Kampung Kidding, a remote village with more than 3 hours of hike. It was my first time visit the place, and I don't have enough food and water. My friends are kind enough to share food and water with me to make sure that I have enough energy to finish this exploration, and to reach the Waterfall. So its good to hike with a team that will always look each other back.

To share the expenses
When we hike to a new place, we will need to hire local guide, sometime even porter. Due to the rough terrain, some of the expenses is not cheap. Good to have a team to share the expenses together, so we can lighten our burden, instead of paying all the expenses by yourself.

Night Swim
We camp at the Santubong Moun valley, beside our camp side there is a stream with crystal clear water. We camp there regularly, and we like it very much. Everytime after we finish our dinner, we will go and dip in the stream. Its fun to have night swim together with friends.

Hike together, rest together
We are at Mount Murud, the highest mount in Sarawak, Borneo. Its a hike which last us for 3 days. Its very difficult to access this place, with all the rough terrain, muddy trail, and humid mossy forest. Good thing that we are in a group, and we motivate each other, when we are tired, we rest together, share a cup of hot drinks and off we go again.

Explor waterfalls together
In Sarawak, we have a lot of waterfall, countless waterfall waiting to be discover. And in a team, we can share the location on the waterfall that we visit before, and visit that place together.

Share the light together on a night hike
My team and I was on a 3 hours hike, after we reached the summit we spend too much time on the summit and by the time we knew it, it’s already dark. Some of us have headlight, some of us don’t. So the one with light walk first, and we follow at the back.

Reaching great hieghts together
The photo above it’s the highest mountain in Malaysia the Mount Kinabalu. Along the way we just hike slowly and enjoy the breathtaking scenery, take picture, feeding the friendly squires, and reaching great highest together. It gives a sense of accomplishment after we reach the check point, and the memories created will last a lifetime.

The art of nature
Mother Nature creates the most beautiful art, and we must go for that extra mile to enjoy it. If you go alone, you will be demotivated. That is why is good to have a team that can always motivate each other, and when that moment arrive, we witness the art of nature together, magical experience.

Share the Burden
When we are in the jungle, we can only depend on our teammate to help us in case of emergency. If one of us are injurt, the other one will help to carry the heavy backpack, the water bottle, the food, and to give a shoulder to lean on for a rest. Teamwork make things happen!!!

Explore & Adventure
Explore and enjoy the adventure together as a team, and we can concur any mountain, swim in any stream, exploring any waterfall, and camp in any jungle condition.
