Two fashion retailers new to Wales are expected to arrive at St David’s Dewi Sant Cardiff this summer.
Designer shoe brand Carvela and womenswear boutique Mint Velvet will both open standalone stores in the city’s mall.
Carvela will present its innovative collection of shoes, bags and accessories. Designed by women for women with pioneering construction techniques, Carvela’s creations are designed to appeal to the style conscious and offer an extensive range of sizes and widths. The 2,130 Square Foot Store will be located on the lower level of the Grand Arcade, next to sister brand Kurt Geiger, and is set to open Saturday, July 23. St David’s is the latest addition to Carvela’s high street presence and will be its 12e UK store, one of three to open in 2022.
Renowned for its ‘casual glamour’ style, Mint Velvet will also be making its Welsh debut when it opens the doors to its new 3,718 square foot store this summer. Located on The Hayes, next to AllSaints, the founder-led British brand will sell the brand’s women’s clothing, accessories and footwear collections.

The latest signings are part of a series of stellar arrivals at St David’s, including the opening of the first OMEGA showroom of Phase Eight, Hobbs and Wales of luxury jewelery retailer Laings alongside the highly anticipated Ivy Asia , Thai restaurant Giggling Squid and Welsh bar Gin Ne Sais Quois, all set to launch this year.
