How Not to Live Your Life, Really

I'll admit I'm not perfect and anyone who claims to be needs a reality check. Okay, so maybe as I've gotten older in this thing we call life, I've grown up along the way and learned a few things about myself and others.

For one, glittery makeup is a thing of the past for me, something I once loved with a mad passion. I discovered this life altercation a few weeks ago when I was prepping myself up for the real world and discovered my favorite glittery gloss just wasn't cutting it. Ya it's as something as simple as that, but heck here I am nearly 40 years old!

Speaking of age, I did have to laugh at a comment made to me a few days ago about being the daughter of Green Arrow when he and I are practically the same age, joking or not. Out of the mouths of gentlemen I tell you, but he did seem a bit surprised when I laughed it off and told him my real age, so a huge thank you to Mr. Howard for putting that smile on my face.

So enough about the nice guys in this world, one thing I have learned lately is never trust those you think you can trust. And never help them even if you truly feel sorry for them. Here's why: They'll lie and pretend they didn't lie even when you catch them red-handed. And they'll take advantage of the situation and live it up 100% while playing the pity party game to you and ditching their responsibility. Then do the freak out number when you've told them on more than one occasion what's up. It pretty much told me something was amiss.

It's really sad, because I'm the type of person who tries to do the right thing and help as much as possible, only this time it backfired in my face, and when I confronted the situation I got lie after lie, then back peddling to the real truth. Hello... Grow up! You are responsible for life, not just me. It's sad because when you stand up and believe in the person for so many years and defend them, and then everyone tries to warn you it's not what it seems, well hell, let's just say I've finally learned my lesson and leave it at that. I can't say I've tried and I've even warned them. Now they'll have to take responsibility and if they don't I'm not going to deal with the pity party game, can't afford to risk my health or life. It's time to grow up.
