Whistler, although a mountain town, is situated in a Valley that connects some smaller lakes and hence has a relatively flat base that enables a maze of pedestrian/bike lines to cross through woods.  This offers a nice range to explore even when you are not going up into the mountains. We first walked through the village centre but also explored the neighbourhoods a bit further away and went up
