Peak UK Chart Position: #6 in October 1991.

Happy 54th birthday to John Charles Julian Lennon, not only bearing the christian name of his father, but also named after his paternal grandmother, Julia. After making his musical debut aged 11, by playing drums on the track “Ya-Ya” from his father’s album “Walls And Bridges”, it would be another ten years before debut album “Valotte”, just prior to which saw the UK number six single “Too Late For Goodbyes” (a year later, it would peak at number five in America).

Perhaps surprisingly, he has only scored two other top forty hits in the UK; “Because” scraping to number 40 in late 1985, and 1991’s “Saltwater” which also peaked at number six – although it managed to top the Australian charts for four weeks in 1992. Away from the music business, Lennon has a strong connection with photography, and in 2010 opened an exhibition entitled “Timeless: The Photography of Julian Lennon”, which included shots of his half-brother Sean, actress Kate Hudson, and U2 frontman Bono.
