Holy Bikram, Batman!

Let's just start this by saying: I am NOT in shape. At all. I mean, I take myself for walks daily, and I rearrange the furniture in my apartment more often than, perhaps, the truly sane do, but other than that? No exercise. None. And while I'm not fat, I'm not not-fat. I'm, ahem, above average... : )

Moving on to the Yoga Class I took this evening... *sigh* Well, you know how, there's that phrase that's made its way into pop culture. The one about I just threw up in my mouth a little? I did that. A little. Really a little, but it was still gross.

I made it a bit more than halfway into the 90 minute class before I started blacking out. The 'teacher' told me to sit down and have some water. I did, and after a little while, I was able to see again so I joined back in with the class. And less than a minute later, I was slouching back on my mat again. I never gave up, though. I got back up as often as I sat down. Well, that's not quite true. Once the panic attacks set in, I was down for the count (oy, that was a sports reference! what's wrong with me!). But the sitting and staring off into the distance while grimacing portion of the evening lasted for only the last 20 minutes of class. And even then, I made an effort. Granted, the effort was not great, but still, I kinda tried. This was Bikram yoga, did I mention? So, not only was I stretching muscles that weren't used to the attention, but I was doing it in a 100 degree room. And I sweat in places I didn't know I could sweat, like the bottoms of my feet? It could have been my hands that were sweaty, though, because it was difficult to distinguish through the delirium.

So, apparently the 'teacher' said something (about me) to my roommate that she took offense to (is there a better way to phrase that?). I guess she mentioned something about me getting a little down on myself, and my roommate was like, Uhm, NO, she was just gonna pass out, that's all it was... And I'm glad that at least my roommate, whom, and we've covered this already, I adore, recognized that I wasn't just punking out.

Anyone wanna go for Yoga with me this week? : )

Or dance class, I'm starting that, too!
