Khachkar - Armenian Memorial Stele with carved cross and other symbolic motifs such as rosettes, interlaces, animals, botanical ornaments, etc., of distinctive meaning. The steles are usually created out of local materials, quite often of volcanic stone, and can weight up to several tons. The khachkars above are located in Poland, gifted by Catholicos (heads of the Armenian Church) to local churches as a symbol of the centuries-long Armenian-Polish friendship.
