Look at this. This little bundle of sweetness and love.
This is LostDog, a.k.a. NewDog a.k.a. LittleDog. Isn't she adorable? Don't you just want to hug her and squeeze her and let her lick your nose? I can make that happen.....
LostDog walked into my house last Sunday afternoon while the kids were bringing the groceries in. She wasn't timid about it at all...more like "Hey how are ya I'm here pet me love me come sit on the couch and you can rub my belly!"
I picked her up and brought her outside, expecting someone to be running down the street after her. Nope, no one.
I put her in the car and drove her around three neighborhoods, flagging down passers by and asking if they recognize her. Nope, no one.
Put an ad in the Courier Journal, made fliers to go around neighborhoods, faxed those fliers to area shelters. Still no one calling to claim this dog.
She could be a runaway, a "wandered and got lost", or a dump-off. While it's more than possible she's a dump-off, it's hard to believe because she appears to be so well taken care of and cared for. She's not thin at all, she's clean, and she's not skittish - like those dogs who've been smacked around and mistreated.
She seems to be a Jack Russell/beagle mix - a Russell body with a beagle temperment. Nice combo.
She needs a home. A home that's not mine. Beejland now houses two adults, six kids, two dogs, two cats, two guinea pigs, and 17 fish. I cannot handle another animal. Aside from that, LostDog appears to be a "one dog household" kind of pooch. Gets along with cats but not so much with other dogs...at least dogs her size. Haven't tried her around bigger dogs.
So, if you're fairly local to me, go back and look at that Picture of Sweetness. Then consider giving LostDog a home - and a better name.
