Finding God's Plan for Me Part 2

On Monday October 19, 2015 my call arrived in the mail! I remember holding that envelope and being crazy nervous. So many possibilities, so many missions in the world! My absolute dream Mission was Madrid Spain and my second dream mission was a visitors center. I opened my call and the first words I saw was Hill Cumorah. I quickly read it out loud and there was an instant feeling that the Rochester, New York mission was indeed the correct mission for me. Plus I was called to speak Spanish! To say I was excited was a big understatement, I was thrilled! Immediately I started counting down the days, super excited that it was finally my turn! On February 3rd, 2016 I would be a missionary! Half way until my report date I got an email telling me that I now was set to leave on February 10th, 2016. I was a bit surprised but still super excited because I was going on a mission!!

So at 12:30 on February 10th, 2016 my parents dropped me off at the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center). My first day went by in a blur! But I was so excited, because I was going to preach the gospel to everyone I could in the New York Rochester mission! I was excited to be learning Spanish, practicing teaching, and learning how to be the best missionary I could. Looking back on my 49 day MTC experience now there were signs of the future storm that was going to hit. However I just shrugged it off to the fact that the MTC was in Utah, and my family was pretty close to Provo so as soon as I was in New York what I was feeling would disappear. On March 29th, 2016 I headed on an airplane to New York! My first day was pretty eventful as I had the stomach flu going during our travels to get to New York, but I didn't care because I was in the mission field! (To be continued)
