Lucky 2013 for a ‘Year of the Boar’ child

A Gift of Luck from Julie Roberts’ Home of the Lucky Clovers co-owner Robert Tan. Photo does not look half as good as the real thing.

Those who say that 2013 is going to be bad for those born in the Year of the Boar must have got it wrong.

After all, it’s just February and there are so many good things going my way.

Capping my good fortune this week is the gift of a beautiful charm Necklace, complete with locket in the shape of a pineapple that holds inside it a four-leaf clover.

It was given to me by Robert Tan, co-owner of the Julie Roberts’ Home of the Lucky Clovers in Singapore and who was vacationing in Cebu with his family recently.

A friend introduced us and when I asked if his lucky charms really bring luck to their owners, he gave me a necklace with one of his new locket designs to see for myself.

If this is a sign of how bad this year is going to be for the likes of me, then I want more of it. Haha

While I am a believer in hard work, I’ve come to realize that lucky breaks matter and are important.

So I’m overjoyed by this gift because I had rather started to believe the dire predictions. I see it as an assurance that my luck is not really dictated by my zodiac sign. Perhaps, it is our deeds that determine our luck, whether it be bad or good.

Mr. Tan told me his designer is a Filipina. I browsed through the products displayed at his website and the designs are wonderful.

If you want to check them out, the Julie Roberts’ store in Singapore is at 5 Koek Road, Cuppage Plaza, #01-19, or you can buy the products online at www.julieroberts.com.sg.

My necklace is beautiful and it is enough reason to appreciate this beautiful gift, luck or no luck.
