Alexander McQueen Medallion Runway Bag – Inspired by 17th century silk weavers of Spitalfields

The design team over at Alexander Mcqueen never ceases to amaze me! Just when I thought there couldn’t possibly be a more gorgeous bag from this handbag designer, a new style makes its debut and I fall in love all over again. This is exactly what happened when I came across the spectacular Alexander McQueen Medallion Runway Bag. This bag has completely left me awe. I do want to point out that this is not the regular “Medallion” Bag. There is a version of this bag that has a lot less adornment than the one you see here. While that particular version is quite lovely, it is nowhere near as stunning as the Medallion Runway Bag! The collection was inspired by the 17th century silk weavers of Spitalfield and the result is absolutely breathtaking! I love the tapestry-like look created by small gold sequins embroidered on smooth black leather. What is really unique though is the way tiny gold chains were used to create extensions raining down from the pattern. The result is a very dainty fringe that looks luxurious rather than boho.
