Is it me or does Bottega Veneta’s signature intrecciato leather feel a little overdone? I know, I know, it is their signature look. But after seeing it over and over again, it just starts to feel old and even a bit boring. Therefore, you can imagine the relief I felt when I saw the bag pictured here. Yes, it features the intrecciato leather, but it has a fresher look to it. The Olimpia has been a longtime staple for Bottega Veneta and it’s really nice to see it updated. It is amazing what a little bit of embroidery will do! I love the loop embroidery on this piece, it adds such a rich texture. And I love the flower-like mosaic in transitioning colors – claret, chartreuse, and black. All of this on an ivory background.
