This is going to suck …

I have another doctor’s appointment next week. I’m seeing an allergist (finally) and am being told to expect to be there at least half the day. I’ll likely work from home that afternoon when I’m done, or I may go hide in a cold dark hole somewhere because I’m going to be stuck be a gazillion Needles. Unfortunately I cannot have any antihistamines, Allergy spray/drops, sleep aids, etc. from now until then.

I’ve been having issues with my allergies on and off since I was a kid. If it bites, blooms, or has fur, I’m allergic to it. And my allergies have gotten increasingly worse as I’ve gotten older. This year is the worst it’s ever been. I’m still having sinus headaches left and right, even though nothing is in bloom. I know this because I check the pollen count every morning and for years I’ve kept up with which plants/trees bloom when, so I can stock up on meds for high-pollen periods.

I’ve tried various medicines over the years, nothing has worked very well. I’m currently on a prescription antihistamine (Xyzal) that I take every night, and I am still having to take over-the-counter meds to supplement it — usually Claritin, Allegra, or Zyrtec. On top of that, I take Benadryl and Unisom (both of which are also antihistamines) to help me sleep sometimes when the itching/sneezing is too much, and Visine Allergy drops for my eyes when they get bad.

So yeah … no allergy meds for a week + needles = a mighty unhappy me.

This is going to Suck.
