This was my view for most of Yesterday -- lazing about underneath an interesting sky on a catamaran in Saanich inlet.

Mandy invited us out for an afternoon on a friend's catamaran in exchange for a little help scraping the hulls of their winter barnacles. How could we resist? I often lament that even though I live on an island, I hardly ever get a chance to spend time on the water. I just don't know many people who own boats, I suppose.


We left from Brentwood Bay and headed straight across Saanich Inlet for Bamberton Beach.

Rajeev grew up on an island too (Bombay), but didn't have any experience with sailing until he moved here. Yesterday he got right into it.


And since Mandy is a colleague as well as a friend, we set off in the dinghy with a can of beer for a "business meeting."
