Once again I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by my family. So many have tested positive and will be isolating this festive season and I feel for these people. 

The biggest thing to happen to me this year was turning 50. I celebrated with my nearest and dearest in my favourite place. Even Covid restrictions didn't dampen it for me.

That's a Difficult one, I've been a bit down lately. Modern life in these strange times can be difficult, there are very few outlets to release the tensions.

I'm probably getting past all that. Covid has taught me to live in the moment. I've been hit with pay cuts, loss of freedoms and health issues - and I'm still here. The current spate of rising costs and prices is a bit scary but as long as we have food and shelter we'll get by. 

The government, certain people at work and of course that idiot prime minister.

That's all up in the air at the moment, I don't have any plans yet.

My dog. At the beginning of the year our beloved cat, Angel, passed away. It was a difficult time for us all and she is still sorely missed. The house was hollow without her but we didn't want to replace her. So we got a puppy, Magnus. I'm loving the time out walking and the energy he brings to our home. 

Two trips to Wales, lots of working (I have quite a bit of annual leave yet to take) and a Viking music festival (rescheduled from 2020).

Nothing planned.

Loads of Star Trek. Discovery is showing at the moment on Pluto TV (following a campaign by international fans). Lower Decks season 2 has been on too.

I need to make the most of my time and enjoy it. 

Yule is a time to re-evaluate, to pause and reflect ready for the new year. This is what I intend to do. Covid has tied us for so long but we can let it rule our lives. We are restricted but there is still a life in between those restrictions. Live it. 

So, as always I say let's raise a glass, goblet or horn of your favourite beverage....
