The Reboot! Corny perhaps, but necessary.

I’ve been going thru a few changes over the past 2 weeks. Nothing you could see…..yet.

Staying away from as much ‘social media’ and news as I possibly can. Working hard and consistent on my future.

I’ve realized how draining this Facebook crap is and with all the negativity coming from every which way I deemed it was time that I right my ship.

And then yesterday was a clincher for me….. On a drive to the hardware store, looking in the mirror and I realized that I’m really not taking good care of myself and that has to change.

About two weeks ago I started sharing a positive quote a day with a few people and that’s had a major effect on me.

I came to the realization that if I didn’t make a change, that the things that I really enjoy in life like traveling would be just a memory of my past. And I don’t want that.

I’m spending a fair amount of time working on my music for my upcoming CD and yet, it’s not enough. That means that by years end I’ll have my music website back on line and working the promotion of the CD along with my photography.

John 2.0, The Reboot…..

This writing today is a bit more self-centered. Because, well because I need to be. Divorcing myself from Facebook was difficult at first but it didn’t take long….maybe 2 days to feel set free. Am I missing anybody….maybe a couple people but I have their email addresses so I can drop them a line periodically. So far the only Facebook postings I’ve done are posting my blog for the day. Facebook no longer allows an auto posting from the blog so, I have to take that moment to copy and paste it to Facebook.

Returning to Florida is a biggie for me. To me, that’s home. Beach, beach bar……life is delicious!

Then, it’s back to the friendly skies!!!! Looking at heading back down to Mexico along the Caribbean coast by June. Why June and not now??? Money. I spent too much money in Europe. But, I don’t regret it. I’ll be wiser in the future.

So, June is when I’ve calculated that I will have myself back in a good financial place. That’s where I free myself from being stationary.

Anyway, I’ll head back down to Mexico and from there travel thru Central America, at least that’s the plan. Roatan, Honduras has caught my fancy. I’m also thinking about traveling by bus…it’s cheaper than flying. The problem comes in with not being very familiar with bus lines in foreign countries. I did have an excellent experience with traveling by bus in Europe especially in Italy.

Reboot….

Waiting til June also allows me plenty of time to do some planning and research. No, I don’t use a travel agency…..I like to do all my own. It is cheaper than a travel agency, and yet I think I can be cheaper and more efficient.

Then, there’s also the possibility of buying another home somewhere in Florida. So, that brings another dynamic into the world of traveling.

Speaking of buying another home…..I want a nice piece of property to grow aloe and ‘finger’ limes. It’s something that has caught my fancy.

I tell you what….it’s not boring between my two ears!

I’ll be writing again shortly on my previous travel experience, mostly about how planning cheap isn’t necessarily cheaper. You’ll understand when you read it.
