I’ve been in a ‘pause’ mode now for a few weeks. I’m back in the states with a skull full of memories that I’m wandering through and resting.

The last 3 weeks in Europe were Constant Motion and I’d say that 80% of my time in Europe was constant motion and that, honestly wasn’t my intention. I really wanted to be a bit more, make that a lot more leisure and see the things I wanted to see rather than the ‘Big’ tourist attractions. For the most part I succeed in not seeing the ‘tourist attractions’. Frankly, I usually find them disappointing. Yeah, I’ve been there.

But, being back in the states doesn’t mean I won’t finish up showing all my places of visits and experiences…I’m just taking it easy, I’m getting back on track and as a matter of fact I’m already planning the next possible treks!

At times it was ‘festive’!!!!!

Other times it was ‘solemn’…..

But, I safely and perhaps selfishly (and that’s alright, I’ve never been a selfish person) say that I never was sad.

I also felt safe.

Only once did I imagine a possibly bad situation and that I blame on movies. I was in Marseille walking down a narrow, very narrow alley entering a bazaar area and I just for a moment imagined a bomb exploding….movies, we take them with us wherever we go.

All in all, it was quite an experience……one that I’d like to do over. I think I could do better. There was a lot of mistakes I made. Places I stayed and Transportation were the 2 biggies and they are sort of tied together. If I stayed in an inexpensive out of the way place (there’s no such thing as an inexpensive convienent place) I had to pay exhorbint fees for transportation.

Another big mistake was over packing. That was sort of intentional based on that the trip would be longer than it was.

I spent a years worth of money in 6 months….. Now, I have to restock for a return.

The return would be a bit more considerate of where I wanted to be, for how long, what I wanted to do and of course a good bit of downtime to enjoy the locals and all that comes on living a daily life in the neighborhood.

Outside of Lisbon….that entailed me walking up and down five flights of stairs multiple times a day!!! It comes with the territory.

I’m Back….

So, I’m back in the States, licking my travel wounds and planning what to do next. Mexico…..inexpensive, colorful, delightful, entertaining, and delicious.

I’ll be back…..I’ve an RV!!!
