From Madeira Beach, Florida to Madeira Island Portugal

Madeira Island, Portugal!!  I never new it exisited until recently and then taking a closer look today, I’ve made arrangements for a visit in October!  It’s amazing!  I gonna put 2 links in here shortly for you to visit.

Madeira Beach, Florida.  I lived there back in 1999 and loved it.  I was right across the street from Madeira Beach and the warm refreshing blue Gulf of Mexico.  This was my was in heaven!  It was my piece of paradise!

This is a pic of Max on Madiera Beach eating his sandwhich and chips.  He doesn’t like the birds watching him.   Besides I don’t think he wants to share.

Madeira Beach is famous for John’s Pass, an interesting tourist spot that locals love just as well.  Other than souvieners there’s food and spirits to entice everyone!  It’s a real cool place.  I spent a lot of time there.  On the bay side you’ll find The Angry Pepper and The Brown Boxer both of which I’m well acquinted with for both their food and beverage.

I loved it there…..and I still do.  But, now it seems, I have a ‘New’ Madeira to get acquainted with this year and I’ve already made my date.  It’s an open-end date, where I go and then decide when I want to leave (well up to 30 days in Portugal.

You’ll be surprised as to the location, I know I was.  There’s no bridge to Madeira Island from the Portugal mainland.  I get there by air (EasyJet) and the flight lasts about an hour and twenty minutes.

Take a look at this map; https://www.tripsavvy.com/funchal-madeira-islands-travel-planner-1508596.

Let me tell you just a little bit about this island and I’ll give you a link afterwards to visit.

Madeira…

Madeira Island is definetly ‘out of the way’.  My round trip flight from Lisbon is $61 round trip.

Madeira Island is the tip of a mountain in the Atlantic Ocean rising 6,100 feet above sea level!!  So there’s more here than meets the eye.  And there’s more that meets the eye.  This lovely island is merely one in an archipelago shared with Spain.

Madeira’s soil is volacanic making it a veritable botanical garden!!  I’m honestly anxious to get there explore, photograph, blog back and enjoy.

The trip was originally going to be for just 3 days (October 24th thru 27th) but, looking at what’s available to experience there and other nearby islands……it’s a bit too much for a measley 3 days.  Besides, this isn’t some short vacation jaunt this European tour I’m expecting will be at least 2 years and now, I’m thinking maybe longer.

Playing it by ear.

Madeira has it’s own wines too…..got me excited!  Yeah, most of the European countries (I’m thinking ‘all’) have their own wines, but this is on a volcano!!!

Here’s an abbreviated web page (only on content): https://www.frommers.com/destinations/madeira.

This page has a lot more….probably more than you’re interested in without me experiencing it all first hand; https://www.madeiraallyear.com/en/archipelago/.

I’m sure you’ll see just by a glimpse why I’m so excited about this vist to Madeira Island, Portugal.

If you’d take a moment to visit my daughters GoFundMe page I’d appreciate.  If you might be able to help a tad thanks, if not, if you could share the link on your social media pages, I’d appreciate.  https://www.gofundme.com/single-momkids-with-car-debt.

Peace, love, and beaches,

John
