What Is A Tiny House?
People have realised that they do not need a big House to have all the comforts they want and in fact a smaller house will generally mean a smaller mortgage which is certainly an attraction.
A Tiny House by definition is small, but like a caravan or motor-home all spaces are cleverly used.
A Growing Trend
The concept of the Tiny house is a big trend overseas and there is more being talked of tiny houses in New Zealand.
On Facebook there is a Tiny House New Zealand Community.
Website “Stuff” did an article on the tiny houses being the way of the future where Tim Cox shared his experiences and said “I want to be time-rich and people-rich… if you buy a house, it just becomes about the mortgage” hence his reason to build a small house.
We also found this website where Tom and Shaye share their idea’s on the tiny house concept and where you can purchase plans to build your own.
Even Campbell Live interviewed Brett Sutherland about his tiny house.
Lucy – The Tiny House
In our search for information on tiny houses we came across this tiny house named “Lucy” and more importantly the designs are available.
They are small – yes, maybe even “tiny” but they are functional.
