HOLI!

For all those thinking that I misspelled ‘holy’, I did not. Holi is an Indian festival FULL of colour! Somewhat like La Tomatina but a lot more colourful. And I love it!

The sad part is, aside from my sister and I, everyone in my family is, well, old and no one enjoys the fun of it all anymore. Therefore, I haven’t properly Played Holi in a couple of years. But apparently, miracles do happen.

This year, everyone somehow  wanted to play; And so we did. There were colours, there was water, there was fun and it was amazing. By the end of it all, we all looked like Ghosts.

Colourful ghosts, but ghosts nonetheless. The colour was on us for a couple of days but we weren’t the only ones , almost everyone here had some colour on them somewhere.

The last time I played Holi was epic. As I said, it was a couple of years ago and back then our neighbours liked us and we liked them so we used to play together, and we used to go absolutely CRAZY! We had all these different colours and water balloons and we were full of energy.

We went all out that time and it showed. My body was Purple for days to come. But that’s not the crazy part. The crazy part was that the colour went in my eyes. Don’t worry, it was completely safe.. I think. Well, my vision’s all intact so it must have been safe. But anyway, the white of my eyes turned purple for 2 days and it was the creepiest thing ever.

Imagine if you woke up to purple eyes staring at you. Creepy, no?
But well, that was the fun of it all and these crazy experiences and bizarre looks are exactly why I absolutely adore this festival!
