Beauty Review: LASplash Classic Horror Liquid Lipsticks

If, like me, you're forever looking for ways to include Halloween in to your everyday makeup, look no further than the Classic Horror lipstick collection from LA Splash. Having recently stumbled across these beauties on social media, I just had to give them go. Here's my honest review...

I hadn't actually hard of LASplash before now but I'm really glad I found them. Based in California, they are a cruelty-free, gluten-free beauty brand, specialising in a number of vegan cosmetics. The majority of their products are also paraben-free and made using raw materials and ingredients.

Of course, there's no prizes for guessing why this particular collection appealed to me. Inspired by Classical Hollywood monsters such as the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Frankenstein and Dracula, the Classic Horror collection is made up of 8 gloriously gothic shades. Unfortunately for me (and now you), quite a few of the shades were out of stock but I managed to pick up 3 of my favourites to share with you. Take a look...

Frankenstein (or Frankie) Liquid Lipstick, 3ml - I would have thought that Frankie would have been the grunge green colour (Ms Invisible) but instead it is a deep, blood red. I really loved this shade as it just oozes that classical Hollywood glamour style. Being matte, it has almost a velvet looking finish. The wand (or brush) for is particularly good for such a vibrant colour in that it has a pointed end for precision meaning no lip liner is needed; whilst also being flat for an even and smooth coverage. Just one application will last for hours.

Jekyll & Hyde (or Ms Hyde) Liquid Lipstick, 3ml - Perhaps my favourite of the whole collection is this, a medium reddy brown. Again, it has a beautiful velvet-like matte finish and it genuinely lasted all day long - even after food. It's also worth noting that you only need a very small amount of product at a time as a little goes a long way. The formula also feels creamy, keeping my lip feeling moisturised whilst that wand meant it was super easy to apply evenly.

Werewolf Liquid Lipstick, 3ml - I wasn't sure if I would like this one when I first ordered it but it's surprisingly grown on me. With a dark grey tone, this is certainly a more statement colour from the collection and it comes out far darker than expected. One thing I did really like about this, however, is that it left my lips tingling. It has more of a menthol smell to it and left my lips feeling really soft and smooth.

If I had to find one flaw with the Classic Horror lipsticks it would be that they're pretty bloody difficult to get off. I managed to wear Jekyll & Hyde all day long without reapplying. Even when swatching, I had to scrub my face pretty hard to remove them. Although you do need to careful in that I was finding lipstick on my hands throughout the morning.

All in all, they're amazingly long lasting, hydrating and have a beautiful velvet finish. And all for just £9.50 each. What's not to love? I would 100% recommend this collection to anyone - regardless of your love for Hollywood horror.
