Confronting Problems

Solo Travel has a way of stimulating unresolved personal issues. Sometimes you don't even realise that you have these issues. You are alone with your thoughts and things you have ignored may start to resurface in your thoughts. Many solo travellers will experience this at some point during a journey or two. It can be good in a way because you're forced to think about or confront things that may be bothering you deep down. It's also sometimes nice to have that quiet time to reflect. 

Post Travel Blues 

Many solo travellers feel depressed after returning home. It takes a few days to start feeling normal again. You can start to feel disconnected because of how you've evolved, changed, and what you've experienced. The chances are, you may feel that other people cannot relate to how you're feeling. This problem can be solved by not going back into your daily routine straight away if possible. Take an extra day off work. It's better if you land on a Friday and have the weekend to relax give yourself time to sleep, unpack, and pamper yourself with a hot bath.

Jealousy

Travel jealousy really exists. You would hope that everyone would be happy for you but it's not always the case. Sometimes friends, family, and coworkers will envy you after seeing all the photos and videos of your travels on social media. Sometimes it can be harmless envy and sometimes it can turn nasty to the point where some people can genuinely start to resent you. I have experienced it...and so have most other travellers. Unfortunately you cannot change the way that people think, so sometimes the best thing to do is keep a healthy distance.
