DIY CRAYON PUMPKIN MELT TUTORIAL (EASY AND FUN!)

Tags: crayon pumpkin

Hello friends! I hope you've had an amazing week! This week I have been really looking into fall DIY's and I found a few that I would love to try! One of them was the pumpkin crayon melt. I tried it last night and it took me a while since it was my first time trying it but it turned out really beautiful looking! Making a pumpkin melt like this can be time consuming and difficult so I am making this tutorial to show the easy way of doing it and also to inspire  you to make one!

(*Note: It is possible to burn yourself, and the crayons may splatter on you, so wear clothes you don't mind getting crayon on)

Materials:

  • Medium or Large sized WHITE pumpkin
  • Blow-dryer
  • Pack of crayons
  • Scissors
  • Parchment paper
  • Super glue (you most likely will not need it)
1. Begin with putting your crayons in rainbow color order. Then cut your crayons at this line:

2. After cutting, peel crayon covering off so you have your cut, bare crayons (make sure they stay in order!)

3. PLACE DOWN PARCHMENT PAPER EVERYWHERE! I made the mistake of only putting a little bit of parchment paper down and the crayons would splatter as they melted, causing a rainbow puddle on my table.

4. You're ready to begin! Turn your blow-dryer on and hold your first crayon (red is suggested) up to it, melting the bottom. Melt ONLY the bottom, if you don't you have a melting crayon in your hands and it is HOT!

5. Once the bottom of the crayon is fairly melted, stick it on the crayon close to the stem, so it is horizontal and sticks out over the side of the pumpkin.

6. Put something on your finger so you do not burn yourself and hold the crayon down onto the pumpkin as you continue melting it with the blow-dryer. Do not hold the blow-dryer too close or crayon will splatter

7. Repeat this process. After 2 crayons you should get this look:

Continue that with each crayon, making your way around the pumpkin.

8. Be creative! You don't have to use rainbow colors. You can use fall colors like, red orange and brown. It is up to you. And also the look of the drip is up to you. Using the blow dryer you can make the crayon colors mix together or spread the color out like I did, or you can just let the crayon drip straight down. But do it however you want!

Finished Product!

I hope this inspires you guys to make your own pumpkin! Have any fall craft ideas? let me know in the comments!
