if 2005 was the year for the pantaseryes, comic heroes emerges in 2006 both in film and television. each of them carrying their own plus-and-minuses.

although panday made a comeback late 2005, the second installment was aired 2006. first and foremost, i am not certain why there has to be months of interval between the two.
pluses. it was well promoted. i even saw a giant billboard along coastal road for this tv series. it seems that they really wanted to make the whole philippines know that, "hey! panday is coming back". the promotional mtv with sugarfree's makita kang muli was also exceptional. it gives out a sense that the series will be a a true epic drama. i also think that the fight scenes are far better compared with encantadia's. at first, i thought that jericho rosales and heart evangelista was well suited for their role, that their team-up might just work. well i guess i was wrong.
minuses. i watched it a couple of times and then decided that i want to watch it no more. i think that was its major flaw. i was already fed-up at its early stage. enough of the red shirt and brown pants of tristan, enough of the fight scenes, enough of the story, and enough on this review. lets move on.

X3 was great. i am just not sure if it was great by itself or i was just comparing it to the last film i saw which was the da vinci code.
pluses. i was satisfied on wolverine's act, phoenix's show of power, seeing mystique in the flesh, angel's wings, and a fabulous ending. i am talking here about the ending. the one showed after all the credits rolled out of the screen. i hope you didnt missed it.
minuses. cyclop's role annoys me big time. the phoenix looks arid. i liked her more on the phoenix saga cartoon episode. so powerful and yet so sultry. i also find iceman's and pyro's confrontation scene wanting. although magneto is the villain, i feel nothing against him. was that bad or good? too bad also that three x-men died, or did they? ;)
aside from the fact that i think the story was altered comparing to the cartoon series since X1, i hate to see this movie series come to an end.

after being seen on film several times, the captain is now a smallville rip-off on the boob tube. i wonder why did the ravelo family allowed to alter the story that way? okay i'll admit that im no richard gutierrez fan and so i'll just let emsie do the talking.

It was an outrage. They made captain barbell a copycat of smallville, (which is already a lame u.s. tv series).... para bang sinabi ng mga writers na, "okay, ano nga ba yung ginawa sa smallville… tapos baguhin o ibahin na lang natin ng kaunti, para di naman masabi na kinopya natin lahat..."
and they have the audacity to campaign against piracy when they are intellectual pirates themselves! gosh! We might as well call captain barbell captain hook! Pirates!!!

it seems that he is no richard gutierrez fan as well. hehe.

the man of steel is back! i saw the trailer of this movie when i watched X3 and i am now excited to see this film.

well that's it for now. we have an outbreak of heroes for this year but i guess not all of them are superb.
