I was kicking around YouTube the other day

and came across this fucking masterpiece!

I clicked...

and for the next 11 minutes

and 48 seconds

I relived my entire life...

IT

WAS

SO

FUCKING

COOL

SO MANY INCREDIBLE MEMORIES!!!

The song...

that I've heard

a thousand times before mind you

just as

ALL OF YOU HAVE...

began pulling at my heartstrings

the moment I realized

that every single band member on stage

was gone

except for Artimus Pyle

who was behind the drum kit.

Suddenly my brain began running wild.

First...

by remembering that we had tickets to see them

and Ted Nugent

just 4 months after this show

which was July 2, 1977.

Our show was to be

November 10, 1977

at Madison Square Garden

But as we all know

that tragic plane crash happened on

October 20, 1977

killing

Ronnie VanZant

Steve Gaines and Cassie Gaines

And then along the way we lost

Allen Collins

Ed King

Leon Wilkeson

Billy Powell

And just recently

we lost the last surviving original member

Gary Rossington

A movie was produced telling

the complete story behind the events

that led to the disaster.

Artimus Pyle...

who staggered through the swamp

in search of help after the plane

came to a stop

was instrumental in getting

the movie made.
