The idea for this dish came when I was still pregnant with Thomas and was HANGRY and craving a Famous Bowl. I was too lazy to drive so I decided to reach into my freezer and pantry. I’ve made this multiple times and our entire household loves it!
There is really no wrong way to make this dish, I’ve used a range of brands, layered the ingredients in different ways and et.
Ingredients:
- Mashed Potatoes-I have used both instant and homemade, honestly, we prefer the instant because it’s not only faster but gives a creamier flavor that is closest to actual Famous Bowls.
- Corn-I usually substitutes one can for a can of creamed corn, however this time the store was completely out of creamed corn.
- Chicken- I have used different brands of both popcorn chicken and chicken strips. We LOVE using Tyson chicken strips.
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese-I used a huge bag we received from the food bank.
- Gravy, I am obsessed with the gravy recipe I included in the recipe below as I always have Better Than Bullion on hand.
