Two weeks ago (how time flies!) I got three trains and Headed to Canterbury, to present at the Austerity and Household Finance conference as part of 50 Years of Feminism at Kent. It was my first time presenting at a conference, and travelling so far for one as well. The whole experience was very encouraging, and a great opportunity to present an early picture of my PhD research and its' context, for which the topic of household finance and austerity is entirely relevant.
As is typical for me, my free time was spent walking around, taking pictures of stuff I liked. Once the two days of the conference were over, I got on the high-speed train and headed to London to take part in the anti-austerity protest.
