A Recipe for a Regret-Free Life as lived by Kathy Lincoln Sigrist

Dedicated to "Kath" - who taught us all so much about living...

1. Follow your dreams and don't listen to the naysayers - especially high school teachers who tell you you'll never get into college!

2. Marry someone "for better, for worse; for richer, for poorer; and in sickness and in health." Life is not always fair nor is it always linear, and having someone committed to being by your side throughout it all is important.

3. Raise your children to be self-sufficient and independent; to be people who can be counted on to see themselves and others through even the most difficult of times.

4. Bake homemade chocolate chip cookies - even if your family tries to steal the raw cookie dough!

5. Pursue a career that is satisfying and meaningful to you. It's an added bonus if it makes a difference in the lives of others.

6. Cherish your family!

7. Find something to make you laugh everyday!

8. Find joy in doing something you are really good at - like baking award winning raspberry pies!

9. Contribute to your community. You may not be able to change the world, but you can work to improve your corner of it.

10. Don't expect perfection and give yourself a break once in a while.

Follow these guidelines to the best of your ability (see also #10 above), and when your time here comes to an end, you'll be able to tell your loved ones that you "have no regrets and am completely at peace."
