The right vacation is different things to different people at different times. After all, a honeymoon is certainly going to be different from a family getaway, but many destinations can achieve it all with their diverse range of accommodations and activities. It simply comes down to what you’re most interested in right now. With that in mind our team came up with our Top 5 places to visit

#5 – GREECE

 
Ancient and yet filled with everything from modern cities to olive groves, Greece is a visual paradise. With the economic crash, there are great deals to be found and the proximity to the rest of Europe makes it even more appealing (though you may not want to leave Greece once you start exploring islands and witness the diversity of the beaches). It’s also a food lover’s haven all wrapped up in a comfortable climate that doesn’t tend to the extreme.

#4 – INDIA AND NEPAL

This is the place to go for cultural exploration. Scenery ranges from rivers to the Himalayas, bustling Delhi to the Taj Mahal. As two distinct countries with cultures within cultures, you’ll want to spend more than a few days in order to get a decent amount of the flavours, colours and treasures.

#3 – PHILIPPINES

 
Nothing beats the wonderful, friendly, English speaking people of the Philippines. Their hospitality is second-to-none and if you’d like an alcoholic drink or two, they are served with a smile at an exceptionally affordable price. Take in the beaches of any of the 7,107 islands and get first-hand views of amazing wildlife and plants not to mention the comfortable climate for walking and exploring.

#2 – ECUADOR AND GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

 
The Galapagos Islands are home to things you’ve heard of, but likely never seen. For one, the bird named the blue footed booby really does have blue feet. Two, remember in Pirates of the Caribbean they were sailing to Tortuga? That’s here too. Ecuador is also a visual oasis that takes you from the Andes Mountains to the Amazon jungle. Ranked by the Happy Planet Index as the most satisfying place to live, Costa Rica is also wonderful to visit. There are more than a dozen volcanoes here and along with that is an exceptional commitment to the environment. Eco-Tourism takes on all sorts of meanings in Costa Rica but the pure beaches and clean rivers tell the story best.
