There will be many times in your life that major milestones will come about. They can be personal, business related, history related, and they can bring on emotions of great pride and happiness or even be sad and thought provoking!
2017 will mark a big year of major milestones for me personally, for Precision Auto Service and for our Country as a whole. Personally, I will be celebrating my 50th Birthday while Canada celebrates its 150th, Precision Auto Service will also be celebrating its 20th year while in the midst of building our brand new shop on our very own property…no more renting! That will be a huge milestone that has been a long time in the making.
“Each of these milestone has earned it’s own recognition and time in the spotlight.”
Cough, cough, splutter, splutter!
Just saying those words out loud just sounds like a mistake! I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that feels this way. So many people have told me that their 50’s have been their best years, and it’s all “just a number, it’s how you feel that counts”! Clearly, none of those people had an 11 and 13 year old at home! Well, some days I feel 30 and other days I’m pretty sure it’s closer to 70, looking after kids can be just plain tiring and daunting and definitely for someone younger with more energy. I like to think of myself as pretty young at heart, I like to work out and I try to take care of myself, so I laugh at many of the articles and opinions about what we should or shouldn’t wear, what we should do or should have done by 50! I believe we must take these opinions with a grain of salt. Like so many things, they can be quite ridiculous!
Now don’t get me wrong, there may be some truth in there, some legitimate advice with great words of wisdom, but I’m pretty sure some of the suggestions about our clothing, hair and makeup choices are written by youngsters that just don’t want to be out done by some older woman who’ve got it happening!
Recently, I read that we shouldn’t wear skinny jeans, high heels or have long hair anymore! So here’s my thought about that…Do what makes you happy! Being happy is more important than anything else! Being happy will keep you young!
“Time and gravity can sure play havoc on our body, things just don’t want to sit where they used to!”
But still, there are some things that are just out of my control! Time and gravity can sure play havoc on our body, things just don’t want to sit where they used to! I certainly can’t cough or sneeze without having to run off, I walk into rooms and forget what I came to do, I look in the mirror and think, where the heck did those amazing lines and spots come from? Truly, the list goes on, and if I continue with naming everything, I may start to cry!
“These are not wrinkles. These are the survival lines of my life. Each one holds a story, a laugh or a memory! They are like snowflakes, no two are alike.” – author unknown
This quote stood out to me and so that’s how I shall dance into this next half of a century…I will keep surviving, thriving, laughing, creating stories and memories! So, I hope you enjoy my snowflakes, they’ve lived well!
