To Boracay and Birthdays

My SO booked a flight to Boracay a few months ago during a random seat sale. I almost forgot all about it and rushed to book our hotels for a 4-day and a 3-night stay.

The process of getting into the Island post-pandemic is tedious. Preparing the necessary documents can be daunting, to say the least. Budget preparation and planning activities are not a walk in the park either. It's Jam's first trip to the island. Good thing she knows what she wants and helps me figure things out. I must admit, when it comes to creating an itinerary was not my strongest suit.

The day of the travel

From Baguio City, traveling to the airport is a convenient, 5-hour drive and we are at the airport. My body was still jagged from waking up in a bus slumber I hurriedly checked in for an 8am Flight. When we were at the departure area I forgot that most food establishments were in the withholding area.

Hungry, we decided to have our breakfast at the pricey Cinnabon. Price to pay for lousy planning.

Good thing our flight was on time and we arrived on the island safe and sound.

Sea, Sand, and Fees

Before we reached the island we need to undergo checkpoints that bleed money. Terminal fees, Fares, Environmental fees. Something never changes I said to myself. I came prepared with my cash on hand and we stridden checkpoints like a pro.

Boracay Baby!

It was surreal, I knew the place but I still got lost in it. It was my second time visiting the island. It feels familiar yet it's different. A lot of development had happened. It's still beautiful and captivating. There is this certain charm unique to these shores that mesmerizes me every time.

I like how the previous administration regulated and rehabilitated the island. It was a party wrecked before and now there is a sense of serenity. One factor might be because of the limited number of tourists post-pandemic.

However, there are still a lot of tourists who don't even care about managing their own trash. Then there are a lot of tourist traps and merchants that are out to drain your cash out.

Imagine you chill on the beach and vibe with nature when suddenly some random dude will offer you activities. Like what the heck was that.

Aside from this, everything went smoothly.
