Back Home from State Meet!

Hey guys!

The State Meet was super long. It started with a bus ride that lasted for two hours, and finished with a celebration at a team member's house.

On Friday, we left halfway through the day to leave for the State Meet since the drive was about 3 hours long. My friends and I were sitting on the bus when Coach told us to get off the bus. We followed him off the bus, and wondered why.
When I passed through the door, there were about fifty high school students standing outside, cheering for us as we gradually piled off the bus. They started doing well-known cheers for our school, and some of the girls started crying. It was so emotional and sweet! I hugged my best friends in the front of the group and waved to the ones in the back. I even saw Jeremy standing in the back! He waved to me as I boarded the bus again
The bus ride up was super long. I sat by myself in the front of the bus, since I learned that the swim team doesn't welcome newcomers very well. I spent most of my time racing cars and playing Subway Surfers on my IPad and listening to music on my IPod. It was super boring, but I got super far in Subway Surfers. I plan on buying Eddy, the guy from New Orleans, around this weekend.
When we got there, my mom had already checked the two of us in and brought my stuff up. I went to the room and called Mayim for about an hour and a half as we played on WoozWorld (I had HORRIBLE connection). After that, Coach held dinner in the hotel's meeting room, with dinner consisting of pizza and Italian pastas, followed by Publix cake for dessert. My mom and I personally went out for ice cream at Dairy Queen instead of the cake.

On Saturday, we woke up super early and drove to the building where the State Meet was to be held. After waiting for about thirty minutes, they let the teams in, and we got bleachers closest to the actual racing lanes.
Man, that pool was HUGE! It had eighteen racing lanes in it (your average pool has somewhere between six to eight lanes) and not all of them were used. It was fun to watch their scoreboard, since it was the fancy light-up kind which was in connection with the TouchPads, pads in the pool that get the most precise times possible. I ate their chicken biscuits for breakfast and had a slice of pizza for lunch before we left.
I only swam two events at the meet: Girls 200Y(yard) Medley Relay (where four people swim each stroke, I swam Freestyle) and Girls 400Y Free Relay (I don't know whose idea this was, but I couldn't swim a 100M free relay in the normal meets. What made Coach think I could swim it in a relay at State??). It was a hard meet, and I felt super tired afterward. Overall, the girls placed fourth and the boys placed first for a fourth year in a row.
On the bus ride back, I mostly hung out with my friends, then on the second leg of the trip, I fell asleep listening to music. I was so tired I didn't recognize my position, but I had my head hanging out in the isle, so someone would walk by and hit my head. Also, one of the boys sitting behind me kept blowing in my face to see if I would wake up, but I just smacked them in the face whenever they stooped too far into my seat cushions to get better aim.

Yesterday was the swim team party. It was held at one of the girls' homes, which is way better than the one my family has because theirs had a POOL and bigger rooms. The pool had a WATERFALL for crying out loud!
Awards were presented at the party and tee shirts were given out for us to wear today. The only reason I am in mine is because my mom made me wear it. SHE DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO WASH IT!!!!!!!

Tonight is our choir's concert (wish us luck!), and I have to go in 20 mins to the mandatory rehearsal. I miss French class (aw, man!) and will be back in time for lunch.

Hot on the Spott,
