Waiting

The Waiting Game - my most hated adversary. All day long on Thursday I waited to hear from my Realtor about my offer. Had it been presented? Would it be accepted? I had no time frame to base it off of or experience to gauge how long it might take. And the fact that it was completely out of my control....well, we can all guess the torture that caused my control-freak mind.

Finally, at 3:30pm, my realtor called me and let me know the offer was being presented in two hours. Longest two hours of my life.

Two hours go by.....

Two and a half hours go by....

Three hours....

Three and a half hours....

Finally, close to 7pm, my realtor calls to tell me a final decision won't be made until the morning - around 8am. There were a few nit-picky things that needed to be adjusted on the contract. I felt better knowing that it was reviewed and that it "looked like a good deal." Unfortunately, I would have to wait another night.

Waking up this morning, I ignored the clock. Took my morning bath, relaxed with Boots, and went on my way to work. By 9am, the texts and messages from my friends just as eager to hear the decision as I was started to flood in. I decided to not think about it until lunch - bury myself in work - no use worrying over something I couldn't control. (At least that's what I told myself.)

At 10:47am the realtor called. I answered and heard the words I was waiting for: "You've just bought yourself your first house!!!!"
