I am a cruel person. I Kill insects without a second thought. They're not really living beings to me. So if they're already non-living, why not kill them?
Well, why should you? I mean its okay to kill the mosquito that's persistently drawing out your blood, or the one that keeps humming near your ear while you're trying to go to sleep, or the red ant that gives you a swollen, reddish, itching, burning spot but what about the ant that's going about doing its own work on a wall that's quite far away from you? Why do I have to kill the poor being as soon as lay eyes on it?
I've killed ants, mosquitoes, a variety of flies and bugs, cockroaches, lizards (I know its not an insect), etc etc. So basically I'm a murderer. Well not really. But I'm cruel none the less. When I was younger I used to love to torture mosquitoes. I'd trap them in a glass and watch them suffer and die. I'd tear off their wings and let them go. And I used to do all this when I sat down to study. So maybe it was out of boredom and not the sadist in me.
Anyways I don't do that anymore. But I kill every little insect or lizard that tries to cross my path. Just let it bother me, I'll kill it off in one go. But at times I can be quite merciless. Even when an insect has done nothing to incur my wrath, I kill it just because its there.
Just an hour ago, I went to wash my hands and there was this little red thing in the basin. It was sooooooooo tiny that it was almost microscopic. But it was there and I saw it. The verdict was death for the red thing. I poured a little water on it and saw it go down the drain. Down, down, down. Poor red thing.



What if I'd practiced Jainism? Well I'm not planning to do that, but being a little merciful would help all the insects in the world, wouldn't it now? Anyways, I'm actually planning to become a vegetarian, because it occurred to me that so many animals are killed because of me. Not that I'm too fond of animals but eating dead beings is losing its attraction. Me ???????? Become a vegetarian ??????If that happens, maybe Jainism next. Could be. What say?

PS: Ironically I kill lizards because I'm scared of them.
