Good morning/evening (depending on if you are me or you) friends, and welcome to this week's show. We have 2 new debuts- one by an old favorite and another by a new-to-the M10 act. Let me start right off with our Rolling Rolling Stone countdown of the greatest singers of all time in their opinions, and I will put the caveat this week that I left out three names I knew because in all fairness, I haven't heard any of their songs. They would be Usher (#97), Selena (89) and Amy Winehouse (83). While the ladies, sadly, have passed, as far as I know Usher is still breathing air, though his career has been healthier.
96- Chuck Berry. Hall of fame act, check. Influencer of many, check. Entertainer supreme, perhaps. Singer, 96 is good.
93- Stevie Nicks. I'm a bit surprised that this is all the higher she rated for RS. I might have waited till closer to the top.
92- Anita Baker. She doesn't join the first three I mentioned only because I've heard Giving You The Best That I've Got. Probably a good spot, though she shouldn't be ahead of Stevie.
87- Diana Ross. Seriously? RS really bamfoozled me with this one. At least top 20.
86- Michael Jackson.
They stunned me with Diana, they knocked me cold with this one. Frankly, on talent alone, he should be top 40, and I am flabbergasted that they didn't put him top 10.
85- Johnny Cash. Y'know, the more this list goes on, the more I know I'm going to have to re-rack all these guys correctly when I'm done running their picks. Top 15.
82- Steve Perry. The surprises keep coming, finding the Journey former frontman this far back. I'd have him up towards the front farther, if only a little.
80- Chris Cornell. The Soundgarden voice is iconic, yes, influential, yes, and deceased, yes. All count in RS's evaluation of a voice, apparently. Truly, though, with his range and power, I'm not hating this.
79- Emmylou Harris. They do like their token country crossovers. Not bad value for the spot.
And finally this week...
78- Janis Joplin. I'm out of ways to say they really surprised me where they put Pearl. Oh, wait, let's try gobsmacked. However, this is a good spot here too, I think.

Man, you don't wanna know. Here, lemme get the first video. Uh, they didn't get to me on the list yet, did they?
No. If they had, I would have fainted dead away.

Tied for third, The Outlaws and Ghost Riders In The Sky at 94, along with Ronny Milsap's Smoky Mountain Rain at 66...
Man, that song ain't nuthin' but a rehash of my Kentucky Rain, just a li'l farther south...
Doesn't make it bad, though! At the second spot, Juice Newton's Angel Of The Morning at #4.
And my number one can't turn off song this week...
