The little one is 2.5 weeks old now, and I love the experience thus far. It's amazing. This is not putting that down in the slightest. I just want to talk about some of the (very pleasant) Unexpected effects that adding to the overpopulation of our planet has had on me.

Most of this comes in the form of gifts. I just received $70 in gift certificates from my collective group of coworkers for use at the local mall (note: the mall does this very interesting thing where you get gift certificates good for any store in the mall. I'm hoping Pamela decides I should use them in HMV on DVDs). This was unexpected and very, very cool.

Random gifts from people is supremely cool. I think it should happen more often. To that effect, I'm giving someone a random gift today.
